Prepare For Battle!

Do you have an ambition and intend to do big things?
Then consider this:
Are you willing to be important enough to become a target?
Are you willing to say things that will attract attacks on your character?
Will you choose courage over conformity?
If you have no enemies in pursuit of your goals then you are doing nothing to push the boundaries of who you are and what you are attempting to do.
There have been many great sport rivalries over the years that have lifted the competitors to another level.
Boxing had Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier where Ali later admitted the rivalry with Joe, took him to a level he would not have been able to achieve without him.
Perhaps the greatest rivalry in the history of tennis is Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, who have faced each other 59 times in their careers. Each relied on the other for exploring the realms of their own greatness.
These battles were vital to rise up to another level of self mastery.
Previous limitations get completely broken and the effort becomes entirely about the exploration of character and exposing and overcoming the deepest insecurities of the mind.
There needs to be resistance, opposition to what you are doing, otherwise it’s not going to ignite your own personal genetic code and reveal exactly who you are and what you are capable of.
This opposition should ideally be powerful enough to threaten your biggest character flaw or weakness.
There has to be a testing ground that supplies the appropriate opposition.
Even Jesus was hated and crucified for his teachings and beliefs. This is unlikely to happen to you but if you have anything worth saying or doing you should expect and welcome attacks.
Modern crucifixions come in the guise of character destruction, the demolishing of reputation and the silencing of courage.
People will hate you for expanding beyond where you are.
Are you prepared?
This is where we focus heavily on our ‘Courage Of Self Protection’ in our course and help men understand that nothing is personal but everything is a projection.
Great courage and great ambitions need great rivalries and challenges to bring them to fruition.
It’s amazing to me that the vast majority of coaching doesn’t cover the understanding and mindset needed to continue on a personal mission despite the attacks that will inevitably come.
These are gifted to you so that you may expand and grow.
They are not bad luck and curses to hold you back.
This might just be the biggest reason many men walk away from the ambitions they had as a force for good, because they didn’t have the strength of character to withstand the judgements of others.
It’s actually impossible to please everyone around you and if you try, bitterness, resentment and even serious illness are often the result.
To all men out there, who wish to be a force for good, in a world of enhanced fragility and an epidemic of male suppression, now is the time to step forward, to be a warrior.
“If not you, then who? If not now, then when?”
